2007 Mogfest Meet at Spartan Rescue, Alconbury
Mark Burnett welcomed "Mogfest" to his premises on the former site of RAF Alconbury in September 2007. Visiting vehicles included Stephen Sylvester's U411 and U406, Andrew Sharrett with his amazing U1300L expedition camper, and John Harraway with his immaculate U411.
After a 20 mile road run through super countryside we arrived at Tixover Quarry where we took advantage of this superb off-road course. Mark really put his 'square cab' through its paces executing a superb balancing act on two - three wheels as below! Andrew also took his U1300L expedition camper for a swim in the lake, which turned out to be significantly deeper in two particular areas than he expected, as he found out when front and rear wheels entered underwater pits simultaneously!
Back at Alconbury we had a great BBQ and Unimog film show, and on the next morning we toured some of the terrain on the former RAF Alconbury site. Most interesting!
